“RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Health officials ordered residents in Riverside County to stay home and cover their faces when leaving amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser issued the order on Saturday in response to "the rapidly rising number of COVID-19 cases" and ordered that no gatherings of any number of people can take place other than family members living in the same home, according to a news release.

Dr. Kaiser also ordered residents to wear a "face covering" when leaving their homes, including essential workers. The face coverings can be bandanas, scarves, neck gaiters or other clothing without any visible holes.”

This was put out after I went out today. So I finally went out, got a few strange looks at Home Depot because of my 3M Half face mask with p100 filters. Scared the shit out of my dog. Oh well, I was good to go, then I go to the cashier and she has a cold and blows her nose before touching my purchases! Call wife hands free and tell her to make sure sanitation wipes are in garage to clean my stuff before I get to work (chores I would have done regardless of quarantine). Most customers and some employees in the store had no face covering.

Recent changes at my local Home Depot. It has two lines one for contractors and one for reg customers. They only allow a certain number of people in the store at a time now.

Edit: stores should have signage: “no mask, no entrance”

Interesting.

Mine had just one line. They let 5 people in at a time.

They have a worker at exit counting people exiting and people at the entrance being signaled if they can let people in.

Most people who go to Home Depot know exactly what they need. Why even allow people in? Just tell the person at the front what you need and they'll get it for you. Or place order online for pickup. This is what the BestBuy near me has been doing 2 weeks ago. For the few outliers that like to leisurely browse at HomeDepot tell them to come back in 3 months. Protect the workers.

Oh how I wish people would listen to you, but around here, it just isn’t happening.
People are not considering protecting the workers as much as they should.

The good news is she wasn't handling food and you CAN wipe it down with sanitation wipes.

Next time at Home Depot, use the self checkout stations.

When I was there every worker at Home Depot had masks and gloves and many had plastic face-shields... Better protection than most places.

Not happened yet, as far as I know, at my store. Sad
Like the states, most HDs can decide many things like this on a store to store basis.

I like that they did that at BestBuy, ordered Rise of Skywalker and picked it up curbside. Easy, convenient and safe for everyone.
