I don't know how it was being handled in specific areas outside my local one, but many of those "last mile" delivery persons from USPS, especially the ones on the weekend, are part time workers here. Lower pay rate, no benefits the last I heard, and no chance at getting overtime.

My "informed delivery" dashboard is finally clear of all the packages that had piled up on it, from November 11th onward. It's like a miracle.

And Christmas cards are no longer arriving, either. I think maybe, just maybe, Maryland is back on track. Knock on wood.
