My Arkansas nieces are sometimes speaking with an English accent

I once knew a woman (American) who worked in a large big box store who would make announcements over the PA system with an English accent.

Made me smile when I heard her.

I love hearing RP.

There are others, but many are as unpleasant to me as are many US 'we don't have accents' accents.

Most American attempts at British accents are horrific, and they almost always attempt some kind of cockney bastardization of their spoken word.

What comes off is a fair impression of Dick Van Dyke doing a bad British accent.

Kids picking up accents is really sweet.

It could be a good time to teach them a foreign language, beyond two people being separated by a common language.

I had a one part in one play in college. It was a walk-on and walk-off. I had two lines. For some reason, my brain decided for me that I could only do it in an English accent. I'm pretty sure it was awful, but it wouldn't come out any other way.

Robert,

They are 6 and 8 and have had the devices at least two years. I know they've been exposed to Peppa Pig at some point.

Remember on Frasier when there was a guy who talked like that and Daphne's mother thought he was so classy because he had an English accent?
