Apple Turns to LG For iPhone 14 Front Camera, Pays 3 Times the Cost

our LG phones were utter shite. I know others experience differed, but I am surprised at 3x, Apple didn't go to Canon.
I'm not sure what LotsaGarbage is good at, but nothing that I've experienced, Appliances, feh! their flatscreens are very popular at the local ecycle and in the return line at the local CostCo.

My LG flatscreen was dead in 3 years.

Well, they are pretty darn good at making OLED TV panels. Whether it's their own models or the ones they make for Sony, these are arguably the best TVs you can buy, and they have been for several years.

Sounds like they're not being offered much of a choice. In another thread the other day, I wondered why traditional camera manufacturers aren't licensing their technology and hardware, but it's got to be more complicated than I'm aware.

(Btw, typing this on a rock solid 5 yr old LG phone.)

Have to say I never thought Lucky Goldstar really sounded like a high quality reliable product either.

I liked my LG phones, had at least 4. Also like the fridge I have my ex-wife has.

My LG flatscreen is still going nearly 12 years after I bought it.

LG makes very good monitors, I've owned 3 and their current ones are very well-reviewed. Dunno about any of their other products, though.

I am still using my LG phone. I did not buy it for the camera...

It could be that LG has a magnitude higher manufacturing capacity and is willing to tailor the sensor specifically to Apple's desires.

Our LG washer/dryer still ok after 9 years. Has a rust spot, but works fine.
