Recycle your electronics from home
#1
A Nevada company is set up to receive any electronics, including power cords, to recycle. You can drop the material off in a collection bin located in many cities, but for those that aren't, you can directly ship the material to them.

Unless they pay the freight, shipping is pretty much a non-starter for me.

They don't pay the freight, from the look of it.

But Fremont, CA isn't that far.

I'm not sure some of the stuff I need to off will fit in those bins, though.

I often forget this myself, but you can also drop off at Best Buy locations for free. Just take it in to the service counter and say it's for recycling.

The Best Buy stores around me are now charging for recycling of many products. Staples does not, and gives me credits for recycling items they sell. Those credits add up over time and are applied to reduce purchase costs.

Hempstead will take items from out of towners?
Huntington that is strictly verboten.
Though I can't imagine anyone is checking beyond looking for a beach sticker.

No one has ever checked or asked where I lived. Just drive-up, pop the trunk and volunteers come over to take it. If you feel uncomfortable with it, by all means, recycle/e-cycle/dispose somewhere else. I can see them denying someone driving up in a commercial vehicle with 300lbs of items.
