Time servers only tell your computer GMT. Your computer adjusts for time zone as well as DST. The tables on your computer need to be replaced. That said...I dunno why it is 9mb. The table is about 20k.

The other 8.9M Is the opt in spyware they install into your os because you opted to upgrade. It would be illegal for apple to ship the os with spyware in it but if they con you into downloading and install it yourself, like any other trojan software its all your fault. Thats what the software industry learned from the government and MS.

But then again there is no 'safe' or 'secure' way to use a computer that has any outside connections at all.

Sorta like there is no 'safe' and 'secure' way to run around downtown huntington, wv naked on acid brandishing a light sabre. thats an inside but very true joke.

DST rule changes for the United States and Canada are already available in Mac OS X 10.4.5 or later

That's right, the 2007 time zone and Daylight Saving Time rule changes for the United States and most of Canada are already available in Mac OS X 10.4.5 (released February, 2006) or later. However, some additional regions that recently adopted time zone and DST changes are available in the February, 2007 Daylight Saving Time Update, detailed below.
