Toyota trucks (and Ivan "IronMan" Stewart way back when) always seemed to win the truck baja rally races. Yes, I know, not an equal analogy to the thread's original point.

But, I have to say, that comparing the recalls of toyota to chevy or especially ford is also NOT an equal analogy, not only in total number of recalls but also in degree of significance of the recall. Minor fixes don't compare to spontaneous fires while turned off and parked in your garage, thereby burning your home down. Not equal at all.

billb,

About as meaningless as your certainty that Rangers were rebadged Mazdas?

Blurb,

As an off road enthusiast, and former Toyota owner, I've always been a fan of the Iron Man. Got to do some work at a shop, PPI, that prepped Toyota race vehicles. One of Ivans trucks was in the lobby. Used to love the Mickey Thompson series, plus go out to see the races here in the desert.

As far as recalls, front suspension collapsing and losing control of the vehicle and crashing is a minor fix to you? Not to me.

Plus brake issues, etc. 1.7 million vehciles last year, and not just minor fixes. The NTSB does not track non-safety related recalls.

Toyotas RDF is strong.

The Ranger and Mazda B-Series are manufactured at Ford's Twin Cities Assembly Plant in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Do you want the list of shared identical components, too ?

I'm not even sure why the obvious baiting of the original post occurred at all...
