...this forum disappears, I want to tell (most) everyone here how much I have appreciated (most) of the "culture" here. And thank you guys for letting me rant. Thanks guys.
If anyone is interested in where I'm at in terms of politics - I'm trying to circle the Trump black hole from a distance safe enough to maintain the tranquility I like in my old age but still able to observe and watch for occasions where I can help those who are crumpled by the black hole and spit out and to have some reasonable sense of the bigger things falling into the black hole. I have been reading headlines and looking into things that have broad political ramifications; e.g., how Trump winging it on tariffs is going in general.
A couple of times I have been sucked deeper into things like how the federal courts and Supreme Court have been ruling on Trump's bid for dictatorial power. Which drew me into the goings on of the myriad issues that the courts are ruling on which drew me in deeper... into the black hole. So I put some distance again. A lot of me wants to engage more but right now I'm selfishly guarding my tranquility. I think I know enough about what is happening, though, in broad terms.
Lately I had been dipping into lurking on this forum and checking out a few threads. It freaked me out a little bit when the forum went down for several days and I realized I might not ever have had a chance to thank you guys for the (mostly) good talks. So hopefully this post will show up. I kinda like that no one can reply if you see this so I can hold on to my kumbaya feelings.
