OSX equivalent of OS9 Key Finder?
#1
Key Finder shows a window with all the characters of a font and the key combinations for each character. Is there such an application for OSX you have tried and would recommend?

i think he means this:

Use Keyboard Viewer to see the layout of characters on your keyboard for your chosen language. For example, if U.S. is selected in the Input menu, you see the characters that appear on a U.S. keyboard in Keyboard Viewer.

To access Keyboard Viewer:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click International.
Click Input Menu, then select the checkbox next to Keyboard Viewer.
Select the On checkbox next to the language whose keyboard layout you want to use.
Choose Show Keyboard Viewer from the Input menu on the right side of the menu bar (the one that looks like a flag).
You can use Keyboard Viewer to see and type characters used in alternate languages other than your chosen language.

Let me try again:

Picture in your mind a 16 X 16 cell table. Each cell has a character in it. Clicking on a cell shows the key combination for that character in a second window. For instance, the cell with the Sigma character, clicking on it would show that option + w key combination would put that character in your text.

If I knew how to put a graphic in this reply, I'd do it. I tried Grab, but it didn't work.

Font Book>Edit>Special Characters, then "Greek" and click on Sigma. Under "font Variations" ?

System Preferences>International>Input Menu and click on box for Keyboard Viewer and it gave me what I needed. Now I remember seeing it in MacOS 10.3 or earlier.

Thanks.
