F/U to my "My MacBook is dead" post

I took my MacBook to the local Apple Store and told them that my computer froze up and when I boot from the install CD, it can't see the drive. I was pleasantly surprised that the guy there didn't treat me like an idiot and just said, "sounds like you are right, it's probably a dead hard drive, give me an hour".

And hour and a half later, my MacBook was back in my hands running very nicely with a brand-new 80GB hard drive.
