The subject pretty much says it all. The local rec. dept. is offering a once-a-week class in Hatha Yoga, and I must admit I am a little curious. I've heard mostly very positive things about it, and I figure anything that resembles exercise even moderately, can only be good for me (50+ male).
Any personal experience with it from anyone here?

Go slow. Don't compete with anyone. Be very gentle with yourself for the first three years at least of taking up yoga.
Every teacher is different. You may not like one teacher, and really enjoy a different one.
There are tens of thousands of different types of yoga. So explore and find out what works for you, as time permits.

I thought you were into Ben & Jerry's Yogurt - what is this with Yoga?
I assume that this has something to do with meeting women with large
safety deposit boxes?
edit....
you might want to take $tevie's advice and use that site. I think that's all you
need to know. That, aspirin & Cozaar.
Don't waste time on anything that doesn't train you in at least 20 hand-to-hand
combat "kill points" during the first 4 weeks.
