Bloody Amazon Can't Get Anything Right
#1
< rant >

Half of my Black Friday order shipped immediately. The rest was supposed to be delayed until Dec. 6th for whatever reason even though the web site said that it was all in stock (probably bitten by the standard free shipping delay).

I was okay with the wait since I had a very specific list and got it all done in one place -- which is a fantastic convenience -- and a Dec. 6th ship date would still get it here in plenty of time for the holidays.

Well, now they canceled the rest of my Black Friday order today because of alleged pricing mistakes after making me wait all this time. The prices were only a few bucks cheaper than Buy.com and Best Buy before rebates. I find it hard to believe that the alleged "mistakes" were not deliberate.

Now I'm not likely to find deals that good again on those specific items before the holidays -- assuming that I can find it all stocked -- and it's going to be hard as heck to be sure that I get it all in time for the holidays without paying for expedited shipping.

Lovely.

They ALMOST had me thinking they were worth my business again. Silly me.

I've never had a problem with Amazon. Just lucky, I guess.

I'd have a real issue with them claiming pricing mistakes on Black Friday items. Those items are designed to be loss leaders.

Make noise in a lot of forums and list the specific items. If you find others who got the items at the listed price, you may have a case with them (or your attorney general's office).

I had to go to the mat with them over a $100 rebate one time. Bad scene but they finally blinked when I said I going to contact Jim Bezos himself about it.
