It's exactly because people will put up with this kind of "Customer Service" that stores continue to push the envelope. First it's self checkouts - next they'll be expecting their customers to open the cartons in order to remove the item they want to purchase.

No cashiers today, no shelf stockers tomorrow - just train the sheep and watch the profit increase.
