So tell me this: why is the new software update free for iPhone but it costs $20 for the 'Touch?

I had $400 to spend, I chose the iPod Touch. Yes, I got 8 more gigs, and it's thinner, and I don't have to pay $40/month to use it. But I also gave up the camera, and the speaker and microphone, and earbuds that can act as a remote.
