Music Player Daemon: Anyone try to use it?

This looks like a version of the Roku Soundbridge that runs on Linux. The idea is you have a server that dishes out the files in a stream and you can control it through a web page or an application I think. I found out about it from playing with my XO laptop. They have an application that controls the server. It can also be pointed at a local music source, but the idea of streaming the music from a server intrigues me. Has anyone played with this?

I use similar software. MyTunesRSS http://www.codewave.de/products/mytunesrss/ will stream audio from my iTunes library to my Nokia N770 Internet Tablet. To stream my iTunes library to my networked Tivo's I use TivoDesktop http://www.tivo.com/

The big advantage is I only need 1 copy of all my music - in my iTunes library
