It could also affect the planned rollout next year of the company's Xohm-branded WiMax service.

As a long-time Sprint customer, I can say that I absolutely don't care about WiMax service. They should just focus on being more stable and customer oriented.

They don't seem to have a reason to exist.

Verizon - reliability
AT&T - ubiquitousness
T-Mobile - youth market, customer service

Where's the niche for Sprint? Once upon a time they were first with devices. Now they aren't. And at least the perception is that their customer service blows.

Well they have a zillion customers left still.

I've had very bad experiences with both ATT and Verizon. Even trying to escalate the issues lead to no resolution. Both of their responses were so far out there, there's not a chance I will use them again.

T-Mobile has poor quality for voice.

That leaves me with Sprint. Sure they goof on occasion, but they fix it. They offer fast data, fairly good coverage and their customer service has been better than ATT or Verizion for me.

They are so expensive... I can't wait till my contract is up.

Maybe I can afford an iPhone then.

See, now I think they are less expensive than the competitors. Of course, they basically charge me what the rates were four years ago. Unlimited data, texting, picture mail... $12/mo.

I enjoy Sprint's commercials . . .

I was upset when Sprint gobbled up Nextel a few years ago. The "push to talk" is my favorite feature and we use it constantly. I'm glad to see Sprint decided to keep supporting it.

I hope Sprint doesn't stumble and wind up out of business. It would be my only reason to switch to another company.

Well, that is, unless AT&T ever gets out here in the boonies. Then it's iPhone, Baby, iPhone all the way!!
