I'll second the suggestion for a Pismo. Mine will be 8 years old this October and, is still chugging along nicely running 10.4.11. Of course it will boot up into OS 9 if you'd need it to. There should be a lot of them out there.

I'm on a Lombard with a 400 MHz G3, 256 MB RAM, and O.S. X (10.3.9).
It's far from the fastest thing out there, but it works fine for surfing the web, e-mail, etc.

I haven't found a PB except on eBay. Just about all the suitable machines I've found elsewhere have been iBooks... wish me luck for 4 potential auctions I'm watching! They sound good so far.
Mom's afraid of a computer with that many years on it, 'cause the iBook was an '03.
