Windows 7 is slated for a 2009 release...

It might actually be released in 2012 with about half the features so don't count on anything the article says.

I am pretty sure Microsoft has actually been working on touch technology years before the iPhone (or Apple's touch-tech) was even a glimpse in Apple's eye - at least from 2000-2002...likely even before that.

Hmm...could be, but as Teh Steve is reputed to have once said, "Real artists ship."

MS had them in test markets (hotels, etc.) for a year now and officially 'launched' them to customers last month (first going into AT&T stores for use).

And I suppose the touch technology used by both was obviously not invented by either...that should be noted too.

If you're referring to the bathtub, it was announced after the iPhone in a "Me too!" fashion.

Not exactly a portable technology...
