OK, just got one of these... takes my vote for "most useless, yet cool, USB device"

... pretty impressive output, considering the USB voltages involved...

How about one of those foamy dart missile launcher cannons? Those are really cool too.

where's the best (read: cheapest) place to get those workplace monitor rear-view mirrors?

Plasma Ball ? Coooooool !

As far as the rearview mirrors, I use an old baby-watching mirror that we had in the car, taped to the top of my monitor. Of course I look weird in it, but eh. The goal of these 'mirrors' is just to see motion and switch to productive use. Many people just hang up a CD or something like it on their cubie wall.

I got something similar years ago at Sharper Image.

How big is the USB version? Maybe I can make a bracket to hang it on the display of my PB or MB.

It's not large -- maybe 6" height, 3" diameter of the globe?

Yes, you could definitely mount it/make a bracket to hang on a display.

It occurs to me that you COULD actually make something useful out of this, like put inside an aquarium? (Making sure, of course, that the water couldn't get in...)
