Bill Murray's wife files for divorce
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7427280.stm

She is saying Murray is addicted to pot and alcohol, and that
he abused her. If you ask me, you have to wonder a little bit
about someone who claims to have been "hit in the face" in
1997, yet remained with her husband for 11 years after that...?

Unfortunately, that happens much more than you might ever want or need to know.

Substance abuse is a gnarly depressing monster I hope you never ever have to endure.

denial is a nasty bookmark..

I've been denying Bill Murray hit her in the face for 11 years now.

I also don't believe it was a Baby Ruth.

Or the "hit in the face" could have been a one-time thing that is being dredged up out of the past to pad out the divorce petition. Same for the allegations of substance abuse. High profile divorce proceedings are not entirely conducive to truth being brought out into public view.

I don't think that is the case

"The couple signed a prenuptial agreement before they married in which they waived their right to alimony or support in the event of divorce.

However, Murray did agree to pay $7 million (£3.5 million) to his ex-wife within 60 days of a final divorce decree. "

Any lawyer can break 'em!!

True, but the intent was there. i think that the 11mil is so she won't try and break the prenup. That may have been her price to not raise a stink.

Bill is a very busy guy. he has turned into a foodie, and has a few restaurants. he was in the VIP seating in Kitchen Stadium for one of the Iron Chef America episodes when I think his head chef was a contestant. If you have some business ventures scattered across a continent, you need to travel suddenly upon occasion. Of course, he could have taken the wife.....

Then she may have filed in the wrong location. The petition was filed in S. Carolina, not Hollywood. Is that a "no fault" state for divorce? Some states require "cause", the usual phrase of "irreconcilable differences" is not enough in many.
