Need a projector for office and travel
#1
We're looking for a projector for our conference room but also small enough where it can be carried to presentations. Our budget is $1000. Now, I may be able to pick out a good printer, but I have no clue as to a good projector. Any suggestions? Just a quick google search got me this one... http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/produ....aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=224-0167

This is one of those areas where I have a strong brand preference. I started out with an InFocus brand many moons ago. It worked well until some idiot forgot to turn it off for 2 weeks. It basically cooked the LCD so it now has a yellow/green tint. It still works though. When I went to replace it, I purchased a Hitachi model. It blew through 3 bulbs in 2 months. I replaced it with another Hitachi that did the same thing. I tried an epson that just had really crappy picture and brightness issues. Went back to a new InFocus and it worked great. I haven't replaced the bulb yet and it is easy to use. So, I'm sure that someone else will say the opposite, but you asked for opinions....that is mine.

InFocus Store

All of the models on the linked page are at or near $1000.

I picked up a Mitsubishi PK10 LED pocket projector two years back and have been very pleased with it. I grabbed the battery pack to for complete mobility - perfect for travel and even holds its own in a conference room although the lumens aren't extremely high by any means, so dimming the lights would probably be necessary for most people's tastes.
