any good deals on an iMac??

refurb preferred but closeout or anything else is cool, too.

at this point, I'm only contemplating it, but my ancient iLamp is chuffing along with all the Flash and video now on web pages. perhaps it will do fine as a kitchen computer.

I like Amazon, they have a $50 rebate on a few of the models now. Free shipping, no tax and a rebate that has always come in within a month. I've looked at refurbs, but after tax it's very close to the new deal from Amazon.

the 24" 2.4 @ $1299 is a certifiable steal, even with $100 more tax

smalldog.com has models as low as $1130.
(shipping typically costs less on this than sales tax... YMMV)

I stand corrected. There are some pretty good refurb deals today, even after tax.

Thanks. For some reason, I was thinking under $1000 but I guess it's not wise, given the extra bump in screen size and memory in the bigger (20 v 24) version

I bought a 24" 2.4GHz from CL for $1150, like new... I'd look there.
