Apple care for iPod, good for iPod Touch?

I see that now Apple sells AppleCare for Ipod classic or iPod Touch. It is one and the same package. I wonder if an older AppleCare for iPod (not for iPod touch) could be use to activate AppleCAre for in iPod touch.

Maybe that updated the packaging, but the activation codes are compatible? did anyone try it?

Yes, it works. Just got one for the wife's one year old Touch. The model number on the box is M9404LL/A.
