iBook batteries - any good deals?
#1
I've got 2 older iBooks now with batteries that seem to be on their last legs ...

Are there any good deals on batteries? I can't see dropping over $100 on an Apple battery. Are there any decent brands closer to $60?

Timg,

I've been searching for the same reasons and finally ordered a battery from L A Computer Company

Rhino makes a lot of different batteries for different applications. We'll see, I spose.

It hasn't arrived yet and obviously I won't have a lot time behind it's use in the near future, but it's worth a look.

Um, er...not to put too fine a point on it, but there's this place, I think they call it OWC or something like that...anyway, these guys sell some bitchin' high-capacity iBook batts. I still get 3-4 hrs on mine after ~3 yrs in use, and it is used and recharged a few times a week.

EDIT: Just re-read your post, I see you're looking for in the $60 range, sorry. The OWC hi-cap batts are closer to $100-120, IIRC, but they are still great batts for the price. I love not having to plug in (or these days, I love for my wife not to have to plug in as I'm now on a MB).

With a little patience, I got a new-in-box 12" iBook battery off ebay @ $10 (for my $35 OWC iBook G3)
