I delete most of the video in iTunes once I watch it. My main source of video is files transferred from my TiVo.

Looks like about 5GB made up mainly of family video clips with one movie. I don't usually watch in iTunes but use it to transfer to my iPod for taking to relatives and friends.

Your movie files are quite small averaging 0.56 GB. Most of my movie collection are from TV using EyeTV and exporting them to H. 264 Quicktime files. The average size of mine are 2 to 3 times what yours are. How do you do that?

1469 movies ripped with one in the oven as I type. Still have a few hundred from my collection to go.

10 TV shows so far, but I haven't really started ripping those DVDs yet.

I've been at this for awhile, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel!!

It's so nice to stream all of that to my Apple TV. And yes, I'm one of those people who can watch movies more than one time. If I haven't seen the movie in several years, it's almost like I've never seen it before.

Jebb, I encode all my shows using the ipod settings in handbrake and visual hub. I use the two pass encoding to get the most bang for my buck. I'm happy with the quality on my 27" and my 42" tv and I have no interest in surround sound so this works for me. Plus most of my video's are of old tv shows so quality isn't really an issue.
