Ever can't find a thread from "way back" you KNOW answers your question? (dang it...)
#1
A couple years ago, either here or at Dealmac, I posted a question... about good guides or maps for a trip I was planning.
I remember getting some great replies. I even remember getting one of the books recommended.

That trip was put off for financial reasons...
Now I'm in a better position, and the value of the british pound is more favorable.

I've spent more than 2 hours looking for that thread. Internal search tools here and at Dealmac... nothing.
Google assisted searches, site specific, with keywords, etc...
nothing.

I did turn up some great threads from the past.... on all manner of subjects. Just not the thread I was looking for. Dang it.

If your Google-Fu is better than mine, I'd appreciate a link.. (I was looking for Travel Guides to England, emphasis on the London area that people had thought highly of).
But don't work too hard... I've got a locally owned travel store now, so I'm happy to patronize them...

Just bugs me that I can't find a thread I can recall so... well.. not "clearly", or I wouldnt have needed to find it.. but distinctly, anyway.

I have a folder in Bookmarks Bar (Safari) that is labeled "Forum Threads" that holds any thread I may need in the future. I created it a few years ago when I experienced the same problem you are now facing.

So far, it's worked out well.

Hmm...Lemme check... :S

Nope! But I DID notice that some of the older DealMac threads are broken. Didn't they lose some of the archive awhile back? Maybe that's what happened to Paul's thread.

"At Dealmac I was Paul F."

Apparently you were also Paul F (no period)

Lots of results here, can you narrow down the time frame a little?

Wish I could...I've "brute force" waded through almost two years of my posts, by author "Paul F."... no luck.

As far as I know, I never posted as "Paul F (no period)". Could be an oddity of the search software I suppose.

I've kinda given up finding that thread... the info is probably a bit out of date by now anyway.
