Isn't the mini hard to work on as well? Just opening it up seems to be a major pain. But, maybe once it's opened it's easier than the iMac?
I'm just asking, I don't know.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but my experience with UPS is that I've always been probably the last delivery on their route.
That is true when I'm home waiting for the package. However, in the rare instances when I'm not at home to receive the package, are the times when I'm first on the route and my package is just sitting by my porch unattended for the whole day! Or, they leave a note saying that they missed me and they'll try again the next day (usually happens on Friday, so the next day is actually Monday for them).
Can you tell that I'm not the biggest fan of UPS?

You didn't use the UniBin version of MTR, It is about 50% faster than my DP2GHz.
HandBrake UniBin absolutely screams on the Intels.

Untrue ReeferLoki, the iMac Intel's, are exactly like the second generation G5's inside, maybe those so called "techs" were comparing it to the first generation G5's, the ones that could be repaired by the customers.
Once again, they are not "revisions", it is a generation.
The Intel iMac's are MUCH cheaper to do a RAM upgrade, by at least half

Cheaper than the G5 iMacs or the Inteliminis?
And I don't do reefer. I have enough senior moments as it is.

Since this thread was about the Intel iMac's.
Yes, the iMac G5 has a single slot that Apple will fill with a 2GB chip for $1200!
But since most of us here have an internet connection, we shop around for a better deals.
I have found the 2GB chip for ~$280
The Intel iMac has two slots, I have found the 1GB chips for ~$80 each (2X$80=$160).
But I only want 1.5GB of RAM in my G5 iMac!
Fine until you want to move up to 2.5GB, then you have to remove the old chip, and sell it for a loss.

Yes, I used MacTheRipper 2.6.6. Guess I need to track down a newer version...
And yes, Toast 7.0.2 is also under Rosetta. I hate doing the three-step DVD copy dance, but using a native app for re-encoding should make it well worthwhile.
I haven't gotten around to working on a Rev 2 iMac G5. I know it has one full-size DIMM slot available, whereas the iMac Core Duos have two SODIMM slots available through a little door on the bottom edge of the machine. On the Rev 2 iMac G5s, do you have to take the whole back casing off like you did with the Rev 1?
