ABC confirms 'Pushing Daisies,' 'Eli Stone,' 'Dirty Sexy Money' summer burnoff
ABC's summer schedule includes fresh seasons of "The Bachelorette" and "Wipeout," a few new shows -- and the final episodes of three second-year dramas that were cancelled midway through the season.
The three shows -- "Pushing Daisies," "Eli Stone" and "Dirty Sexy Money" -- will air Saturday nights at 10 in a sort of burnoff theater spot. The last three episodes of "Daisies" will air starting May 30, followed by the four remaining "Eli Stones" beginning June 20 and the final four "Dirty Sexy Money" episodes on July 18.
As far as originals go, the network's summer schedule will be anchored by its two most successful shows from last summer -- "The Bachelorette" and "Wipeout." The new edition of "The Bachelorette," starring Jason Mesnick dumpee Jillian Harris, kicks off Monday, May 18. The goofy obstacle-course hijinks of "Wipeout" start again on Wednesday, May 27.
The "Wipeout" premiere will lead in to animated series "The Goode Family," which will finally see the light of day on May 27. It will be paired with "Surviving Suburbia," which will move over from Monday nights.
Other originals lined up for the summer include second seasons of "Here Come the Newlyweds" (May 25) and "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" (July 8); sort-of newcomer "The Superstars," which will put a celebrity spin on the old athletes' competition starting June 23; and "Dating in the Dark," a show in which singles get to know one another without the benefit of seeing each other.
