Personally, I'm starting to get really annoyed with tooltip-type mouse-over popups that are finding their way onto so many web sites. So I'd rather they not be added here.

AllGold,
Personally, I'm starting to get really annoyed with tooltip-type mouse-over popups that are finding their way onto so many web sites. Are you talking about those double- or dotted-underline things that pop up Intellitxt, VibrantMedia, Kontera and similar ads? If so, let me know, and I can show you how to easily edit your /etc/hosts file to prevent them.

Exactly what Lux is describing. And I'm not talking about Vibrant type ads although those are super annoying too.

If you use Camino or Firefox you can disable toolbar tips if they bug you.
In your location bar enter about:config In the Filter field enter toolbar In the Browser.chrome.toolbar_tips column double click on true. That will change it to false. No more tips.

Less is more. No tooltips please!
