I had to work with some Mini 10's a while back. While I didn't pay attention to where the RAM went, I did disassemble of few of them and put them back together. Didn't find it hard at all and only looked at the instructions the first time.
Besides the video card, I think the other major difference between the 10v is it has VGA out while the 10 has HDMI out.
And running XP in stock configuration, I thought those computers were POS's (never used a 9 or 10v running Mac OS X though), and it was my first netbook experience, but not one I'd care to repeat.

I warn you all now though: I'm very monotonous, and very boring...you may fall asleep.
Indeed. I didn't bother with the second two videos.

There are Dell Mini 9 refurbs still available and there are refurbs of the Vostro 90 which is, as I understand it, the same computer in black.

Other than the easier RAM access, the smaller display on the Mini 9 has a slightly higher screen resolution. The Mini 9 is 1024x600 while the 10v has a 1024x576. Dell offers the prior Mini 10 model in a high resolution screen option with a 1366x768 display, but that option appears to not be available in the 10v line.
