Cool local search site... Milo
#1
For the "I need this now" situations, this is a cool site that searches your local brick 'n mortars.
Just saw it mentioned as new favorite site on tekzilla.

http://milo.com/

Edit: Looks like it is limited to Staples, Lowe's, SEARS, Best Buy, Macy's, Walmart & JC Penney.
Still not bad, and who knows, more could be added at some point... ?

I have to admit it makes me a little nervous that it already knew where I live. I think it should have the decency to ask for a zip code instead of so blatantly displaying proof of the spying that goes on via the internet. Smile

Yeah I noticed that too, AD. Didn't exactly make me nervous, but I
certainly was a little surprised to see my city and zip show up.

What do you think your IP address does? It gives your location unless you are using a proxy or private browsing.

Seems very, very limited. Not really local as much as nearby national chains.

Well, I know that, and you know that, but do they need to rub our noses in it? You'd think they'd at least give people the illusion of having some privacy, even if it isn't true. It's like meeting someone for the first time and having them say, "I know you; you live in the florescent green house in the next town." Sheesh.

And learn to pay attention to the smiley faces, OK? Smile
