Where to Copy Camcorder Video8 tape to DVD?
#1
My mom has a couple of old camcorder tapes from the early 1990s. The camcorder is long since gone and it's Video8 so the tapes can't be played without the camcorder.

She'd like to bring them into a store to get the copied to DVD. She does not want to send them out for processing (even though the store will undoubtedly send them out).

I haven't been able to find any stores near where she lives that advertise the service.

Do any national chains do that anymore? Which ones?

can you find a cheap video8 camcorder on craigslist?

Yes, or a thrift shop or eBay, but I live a couple of thousand miles away from her and she doesn't want to mail it. She wants to drop it off somewhere like film at a developer.

Nevermind!

I found out that Ritz Camera does it.

I called and confirmed. They'll do it for her for $32 per 2 hours of tape.

Walgreens provides a service. They likely ship it out, but it can be dropped off at store.

I like Costco. Half the price of sending it in.

My Dad brought his super8 (yeah, I know) into Ritz. they did a good job of transferring to DVD. He also has brought film to Costco but they apparently don't do it any longer (but I would still check at the photo desk, you never know).

I don't believe Digital8 is still available retail. Therefore no returns, no refunds.
