Did I wreck my bass amp F/U
#1
http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1...msg-822163

I discovered that the cone is made to be user-replaceable on this speaker (15" Peavey Black Widow) but I bought a new patch cable in the meantime and discovered that was the problem.
Hasn't seen a whole lot of use or abuse, but it is pushing 10 years since I bought this thing.
Thanks for the responses!

Good news. A combo like that should outlast many a patch cable.

I sold a full functional Peavey 15" combo bass amp about 2 years ago for $100, it was built in 1979. It also had the Black Widow speaker.

Nice. FYI, always start with swapping out your cables and checking your connections. Also reduce signal chain to minimum, if you have multiple devices in the path. Large majority of problems will usually be there.
