The wife's iPhone started taking hours to sync a few weeks back. Stopping sync backups helped, but didn't cure the issues entirely.
She's made a couple of trips to the local Apple Store, and the latest advice was to restore the phone, then try to resync. The phone now will not sync iCal or contacts or photos at all. The Apple Genius Bar kid surmised that iCal and/or contacts data is corrupt, and finally suggested to her (she took her Mini with her) to do an archive and install or 10.6, then drag the iCal and contacts Library files back into the new system and try again. I've been mulling that advice over since Sunday.
This last makes no sense to me, and that's not least because (sorry, MacFixIt) Archive and Install is a huge PITA as far as getting your computer back to where you want it to be. Beyond that, if the problem is corrupt iCal/Contacts data, it seems to me he's suggesting we just run that same data again after re-installing Snow Leopard.
Any thoughts? Similar experiences?
