A Mac Death in the Family

Nice. I've got a few old machines out in the garage including an SE/30.

Maybe I'll fire them up this weekend.

I think I still have a box in the garage with 2 or 3 IIci power supplies... give me until the weekend and I will let you know one way or the other...

It's the battery. Leave it plugged in a couple of weeks and it will boot. Or spend a few dollars and buy a battery.

It might be the battery, it might not.

Most of the IIci I have junked in the last couple of years have been because of leaking capacitors destroying traces on the mobo, just like what happens on the SE/30.

Hit the power a few more times. The CAPS might just need some power to get going.

I did push the power button quite a few times. Didn't look at the battery, because I can't see it: it must be under the power supply or the drive cage. Now I have to find a take-apart guide…
