CLICKS and whistles!....if you have or are looking to buy a Samsung LCD TV......
#1
....you might wanna think twice....they have been having issues with 'capacitor' problems....where the TV starts making clicking sounds and eventually takes longer and longer to turn on....

.....Samsung will only repair if it is a model listed but other models are affected and Samsung refuses to fix any model not included on the list.....

.....this is happening to me and has happened to other people that I know that have Samsung TVs....on mine it began after having the TV over a year with 2 clicks before it would start and now it is up to 10 clicks.....

......just an FYI....

here are some links that I found....one mentions a cheap way to replace the capacitors but you need to be comfortable with soldering....otherwise google 'Samsung LCD TV capacitor problems" and you will get mega hits....

LINK to consumer complaints......

LINK to step-by-step CHEAP fix using capacitors @ Radioshack but you need to know how to solder.....

First link comes up as "Page not found". Didn't try the second one yet.

My Samsung Slim Fit has been in the shop twice in the 3 years we've had it. Sounds like the same problem, only my TV doesn't "click". It just won't turn on. Both times I think it was a capacitor problem. Cost about $50 each time to get it fixed. I told my wife that if it happened again, we're going to get rid of it.

Might also check out http://www.badcaps.net/forum/
I repaired a Dell 17" tv/monitor with underpowered caps with the info from their forum. This is also a common problem with G5 imacs and just try to desolder the bad caps on those power supply boards. Good luck.
