The owners will have hives brought in by professional beekeepers when the apple trees are in blossom.

Afterwards, they move on to another crop.

It's not a terribly big orchard but size probably makes little difference.
I'll have to walk over and remember to ask soon, they have a road side stand.

No monarchs here, either. Must be the lack of milkweed. We exercise on a road that runs through the farm countryside for about 1.4 miles (one way) and we have yet to see a monarch.
