Nope. No USB 3.
But if you buy a current 17" MBP or a previous 15" MBP with a cardbus slot you can have USB 3 right now.
I would say February at the soonest.

No. Until further notice, Steve is waiting on LightPeak. That means further notice from Apple, not from the millions of end-users who are CONVINCED that Apple can't POSSIBLY deprive its users of USB3 while the rest of the computer world gets to have it. Because those folks will be, as they always have been in the past, gravely mistaken.

All new models should have the SSD slot from the MBA.
Let us boot from the SSD but keep HD/optical as well!

For some people SSD just doesnt offer the storage vs price.
But I think Bill is right.
Im thinking an option for a dual drive system, much like the 27" iMacs -- smaller MBA style SSD for system + larger platter drive for storage.

USB 3 would allow for booting from a SSD. Use it as a fast portable boot drive for every computer you use.
Anybody want to take a bet that Apple will not have a laptop with Light Peak and usable external devices until 2012?

No bet, because I bet it will be 2013.
Funny how at times they can be cutting edge "first" and then at the same time be last.

It took Apple almost 3 years to adopt USB 2. I wonder if they will be as pig headed with USB 3. 2013 would be about the same time frame. It will be pretty sad if USB 3 sucks on a Mac like USB 2 did.
