I have a dvd that has many many 2-4minute segments. I don't want to rip them all individually. How can I do the whole thing as one?

Some DVDs are mastered with all the segments in one .VOB file so you can just rip the whole file. If there are numerous VTS_XX_1.VOB files where the XX goes up to 20 or 30 or more, then hopefully someone else has a better suggestion.

Won't Handbrake do that?

No, HB makes you choose an individual title or chapter, one at a time unless the disk was mastered such that a "main feature" was made.
I wouldn't mind ripping separate titles/chapters for those disks without a main feature if HB could stitch them together, like VisualHub could (when it worked, that is.) Instead, I have to later copy/paste each transcode into a new Quicktime file. I guess MPEGStreamClip could do that as well.

Are you sure there isn't a "longer" choice in the list? I ripped a loony toons disk and it had LOTS of smaller segments but also had the longer segment for the "watch all" option on the DVD.

I would rip the entire dvd, then merge the VOB files and then convert. A program such as D-vision will merge the VOB files. It's free. I'm sure that there may be other options.

Thanks for the tip macphanatic, I downloaded the program and combined the vob files. The interface is confusing but I eventually figured it out. Handbrake now sees it as a 2.5hr vob file and is cranking away on it.
Btw, I'm familiar with the situation where there is sometimes a longer track displayed in handbrake but that wasn't the case this time. This dvd is an educational dvd with many many short clips of different instructors.

Rip the entire DVD, use handbrake or formatfactory, there are many guides how to do online, just full use the Google search~
