com.apple.Safari.plist
#1
I like Safari (1.3.2) but quit using it because of frequent crashes. Is the file 'com.apple.Safari.plist' the preferences file and might it help the crashing problem if I trash that file? Thanks.

Yup... that's the right file.

Give it a shot.

If it was me, I'd remove it, but not delete it.
Gives the option to put it back later... if for some reason you wanted to.

Actually Apple recommends using procedure to disable the duplicates, from the Font Book help:

A dot appears in my fonts list?

A dot next to the name of a font family in Font Book indicates that you have duplicate copies of that font family installed. Font Book can easily resolve this problem by disabling any extra versions of the font family.

To resolve duplicate fonts:
In Font Book, select the version of the font family that you want to use.
Choose Edit > Resolve Duplicates.

The selected version of the font is turned on while all other versions are turned off.
