Travel kettle?
#1
Anyone have recommendations for a small travel kettle they like? I'm not entirely confident about the cleanliness of the in-room coffee makers and the water doesn't really get hot enough for me anyway.

Looking for something small and easy to pack. Will be used domestically, but international adapters might come in handy, too.

TIA-

Used it once. Worked well. We needed a larger one.

Good solution, but I've already killed 2 of those. Smile I am hoping the kettle will mean I won't have to watch the water while it heats.

Zjirushi Electric Dispensing Pot - Teavana and other high end stores sell these, they boil water and keep at set temp.

I got one at the thrift store and love it. Tea Water Oatmeal hot water for cooking, french press.

Shop around for price, and I believe they sell several sizes.

That's the ticket, deco!! We have been using those for many years in Japan, and brought two back to America with us. It is all we ever use to make coffee, etc. now - each cup is fresh, make one cup at a time. The water is perfect temp for making coffee. It is a tad big for travel...

I see them fairly often, but I did not know about them, until I saw one online. Took the chance from Good Will. It looked mildly used but had a little scale. I ran diluted vinegar water thru it, then 2 pots of filtered clear water, and like brand new. Mine is 3 liters and I was told of a 1 1/2 liter pot.

It is truly a thing of beauty. I make coffee in a thermos maker. But I warm up my cup with hot water from the hot pot. I also use it for tea in the afternoon and evening. If you hit reboil, the water is nice and hot for some heavy duty cleaning of small items, and I use that water to clean my coffee themos.

I would love to find one of their rice cookers at resale prices.

And I thought tankless water heaters were the new trend.

There you go... thinkin' again, Buck.

Didn't your coach ever tell you that "Thinkin' just weakens the ball club?"
