Well eBay finally did it, they're going start charging fees on shipping.

Notice that, if you do a BIN with free shipping, eBay still gets their cut, as they charge a Final Value fee that'd include the amount you added to the cost to make up for free shipping.
What a rip-off!

See that's what I mean now they're going to get a cut of your shipping cost one way or the other. They can
make their own rules as they go because when it gets right down to it there's nothing else out there with amount of
traffic eBay receives.

I had noticed a few weeks ago, that a surprising number of completed listings of gift cards (specifically, Home Depot $500 cards*) were sold for 1¢ + ~$450 shipping. Which I thought was strictly verboten and would have been blocked.

Now I think maybe they intentionally let all those listings slide in anticipation of this new fee policy, figuring that would convince some of the justice of the action.

*I sold mine for hard currency, locally on CL (thanks, AMEX for the freebie!).

They warned my about an auction I did, starting at 99¢ with $45 shipping. This was for a CD player, weighed 23 lbs and sold for $1500. (Audiophiles loves vacuum tubes). But I start everything at 99¢, let the fun begin.

But they sent me an e-mail stating that shipping seems out of line and how more people will bid if the shipping is reasonable etc.

ebay is chasing users away in the name of profits and has been for some time. unfortunately this is unsurprising.
