I read the last post about BR's and was reminded that friends have an issue. We have been doing a thing where we trade making dinner and the dinner menu has to made to a certain letter of the alphabet in order, e.g., they started with "A" and made dishes that began with that letter. We had "B", back to "C" for them, etc. After dinner we watch a few episodes from the WGBH DVDs of the Julia Child French cuisine cooking shows. A lot of good info 40 years later and she's half in the bag most of the time too. Great stuff.
Well, to make a long story even longer, the color videos are muted-no reds, just browns, greens, and blues. Food doesn't look that good but we thought it was just the videos-especially since the photos on the packaging have the same look-but then she says that all their videos including movies look like that. We took the videos home and fired them up on out ancient ('99) Pioneer DVD player and they look great. Good color and the food looks appetizing! So I went through their menu and couldn't see any odd settings and at this time I'm stumped. The Panasonic BR player is only a couple of years old and their TV is a 4 or 5 year old Samsung LCD. Any thoughts? Sorry this got so long.
