Bernie's Bust on the upgrade to Lion

the release info available on iCloud states that Lion is a requirement.

Technically, the release info is vague, and says that some features require Lion.

Some features of iCloud require iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod
touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad, or iPad 2, or a Mac computer
with OS X Lion or a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Outlook
2007 or 2010 recommended). Some music features of iCloud are
available in beta now in the U.S. only and require iOS 4.3.3 on iPhone
3GS, iPhone 4 (GSM model), iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad,
or iPad 2, or a Mac or PC with iTunes 10.3.

I don't think it's safe to assume that none of the iCloud will work with previous versions of iOS. Apple can be frustratingly vague about this stuff, though.

since the wife uses an older iMac still, if this were happening today, she would dump the iPhone and go android in order to keep things synced.

This forum is about as social as I get.

That may be a very good think.

I have yet to see that confirmed.

I think Stevie confirmed that in his portion of the keynote.

hopefully true. both these programs automatically upload to iDisk when i quit them. i'll have to check if that capability is iDisk only or can be set up for any ole cloud.
