Note to self: shotguns are not surgical instruments

or, once again, a vegetable peeler and some ice.

I use the LN2 tanks at work, and some long swabs. My co-workers think I am crazy. Not spending a co-payment to have a doctor do just that pays my bar tab that night.

So you guys are saying that shotgun recoil has no significant effect on accuracy?

And lets assume a tight pattern at a relatively close distance so as not to consider spread.

not when we are talking about where the shot hits 2" after leaving the muzzle.....

The shot chewed up his hand before his brain registered that the primer had even triggered the shell.

Check the math, and search the internet on shotshell velocities and recoil impulse speed.

Recoil effects follow up shots, but not the initial shot.

On a pistol the velocity would be essentially the same as a 12 guage except for some hand cannon rounds, but the barrel is now 1/4 the length. Even less of an issue, for the first round. Half a millisecond or less.

Granted, jerking the trigger will shift the aim point if the barrel is long enough, but RECOIL was blamed.

This is Physics 101.

Good Physics! The guy could use a course.

I don't believe these things are allowed to happen these days. Such people should not be let out of their house!

I find it odd that he was in possession of a weapon in a country where that's illegal.

How could this possibly happen?

He found it under a hedge. Long guns, especially "shotties" are allowed for hunting, and shooting competitions in England (to the best of my knowledge)
