I guess it still is. I noticed Solitaire is still a default shortcut in the Start menu.

Thanks, Dennis---another good idea it seems.

Update: my first geek task.
I added the Downloads folder to the taskbar. http://lifehacker.com/5372830/pin-indivi...-7-taskbar Weirdly convoluted, and yet surprising Windows lets itself get fooled for it to work.

How is something like Ad-aware different or better than MS Malicious Software Removal Tool?

OK, it seems the MS solution only looks for the most widely-known, heinous stuff whereas Ad-aware is more broad.

How about something that can open PDFs? Something worth considering over Adobe Reader?

Holy cow---there's System 6 "Puzzle" Desk Accessory clone in the "Desktop Gadget Gallery" (Picture Puzzle). I suppose by now if Apple brought Puzzle back people would think they were copying Windows.

:agree:

Must faster, smaller footprint, and it doesn't insist on updating itself twice a week.

Also, Revo uninstaller.

I'd get 7zip as well.

Can someone explain to me the advantage this offers over WinZip (besides being free)?
