Truck Needs Tires. Is There A Mail Order Solution?

Don't laugh but I got my wife's last set of tires from the junk yard. They had a whole room full of singles, two of a kind and sets of 4/5 that were like brand new. Of course YMMV on any given day but instead of brand new for $200+/- ea I got all 4 (Michelins) for $200 and these still had the little nubbies on em like new. I dunno, maybe they crashed the car on the way home from buying tires!?

Jack D had a good point about salvage yards.

I scored two full sets of brand new tires back in 94 following a flash flood that totaled a new car lot. Cost was $25/tire.

Worth at least checking. Just call them and ask if they have any full sets in very good condition.
