I did a clean install of Snow Leopard, taking days to get everything just right (as I haven't done a clean install of anything in YEARS).
I'm almost done, but after looking all over the internet, I still can't get my iPad to sync, it keeps saying it's synched to another computer.
HELP PLEASE

Is this the same computer you synced your iPad with previously?
If yes, did you do make a back up of your iTunes library in your Music folder?

Couple of more questions:
Did you previously use the iTunes folder on the external drive with the old computer or did the old computer use the iTunes folder in the Music folder found at ~/Music/iTunes?
Is the iTunes folder on the external drive the same as the copy you have from your old computer or are they different (music, apps, etc.)?
if not, then that is why it is not recognizing your computer. There are files in the iTunes folder that hold the syncing info for iTunes devices.
If the device is unknown to the iTunes files (i.e. a new computer) then it will not sync.
Solutions are:
- Copy iTunes folder from old computer into the external HD and use it as your iTunes folder (this is assuming that they each hold all of your music) - Benefit is that the iPad will be recognized and able to sync
- Use the iTunes folder on the external drive and restore your iPad and set it up like a brand new iPad with the new folder on the external drive

Do you sign in on your ipad or new computer? I am in the same situation with a new installation of snow leopard.
