Food on a Stick?

The subject line of the post below asking if you can put a computer on a stick baffled me at first, then got me thinking about the Minnesota State Fair, where there is always a competition to see who can come up with a new type of food on a stick. I assume many state fairs also do this, but for the fun of it, here is a list of food on a stick served at this year's Minnesota fair. Call me a Ludite, but I always buy the grandfather of them all when I go to the fair: Pronto Pup.

Andre's Watermelon: Chocolate Covered Jalapeno Peppers on-a-stick. New for 2011.
Axel's: Breakfast Lollypops - sausage patty dipped in corn muffin batter, deep-fried and served on-a-stick with maple syrup. New for 2011.
Bayou Bob's: Cajun seasoned alligator sausage on-a-stick.
Big Fat Bacon: one-third pound slice of bacon fried and carmelized with maple syrup, served on-a-stick with dipping sauces.
Boulevard Grill: pancake battered maple sausage on-a-stick.
Candy Factory: hand-dipped caramel apples on-a-stick with gourmet toppings including nuts, candies and marshmallows.

Well, at the risk of stating the obvious, the idea is that you can walk around and enjoy the sights and the sounds of the fair while savoring your food on a stick.

I ate my first corndog in years at the IL state fair a few weeks ago . . . and observed--
1) For the most part, all of the food was segregated off to one area, similar to the various music festivals I've been to recently-- so there's not really any walking around with your food and observing things, unless you find the other food vendors captivating
2) I would venture to say Americans have evolved considerably in the speed at which they can consume food over the past half-century or so, so anything you can fit on a stick is probably going to be gone before the consumer can get more than 10 feet from the stand.

I think the natural next step in the process is for someone to develop a way to dispense food directly into people's mouths.
