How much should it cost to service an old refrigerator?
#11
>Ancient fridges can cost over $250/year to operate

>My old fridge was (1968 avacado green) costing me $35-40/ month.

Consider those into your equation.

There are people around that pick up old appliances for nothing, they tinker with them and resell them.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll figure out my options this week. One note, davester, if you live in this part of the country, any refrigerator isn't even close to air conditioning as the biggest chunk of anybody's summertime electric bill. Trust me.

You got that right. Ours was just turned on a few days ago, it's been a mild spring
and with the new windows we put in it's been nice having fresh air but it's been in
the 90's for about 3 days in a row and it's AC time probably until Sept.
